Odd Wishlist

When I was flipping through my dad's dental technician magazine I spotted this horrifically stunning sculpture by dental tech Luke Kahng. It's so creepy! So I placed a note by the picture stating that I wanted one just like it, you know, for photographic purposes. But, it would be very expensive and time consuming for my dad to make. I think I would be asking for too much. ;)

A Dionaea muscipula, or Venus Fly trap! You can even find one on Etsy! I have wanted one of these since like, 5th grade science class, and I STILL don't think I am old enough to care for one properly. haha

Really awesome plugs by One Tribe organics. I LOVE this carved stuff, it's beautiful! But, the more detail, the bigger. :/

A Uroplatus phantasticus, or a Satanic Leaftail Gecko. Native to Madagascar. I am not sure where you can buy these guys. Isn't he just PRECIOUS??[photo credit- Thor Hakonson]

If anyone reading this has something unusual they want, do share!

Friday Favorites

Sweet bracelet by ibwatson. I was so ridiculously excited to find this guy on Etsy, making these at a reasonable price. I have been checking back in hopes to find a piece tiny enough for my bony wrist, but nothing yet...

Cute camera case by Hine. I wish my SLR would fit in one of these!

Bowl by CircaCeramics. Man I love this stuff!

Stitching by MoxieDoll. CUTE!!

Tee by LadyLotus This was carved out of linoleum and printed onto the shirt for only $14!! Seriously?? I have to pick up one of these.

Brooch by Yaelfran. The lil' gal now comes in blonde- I am glad I snatched up a brunette earlier! ;D

These portraits by Jack Radcliffe are absolutely beautiful. He didn't put his daughter in a studio with backgrounds and lights, instead he photographed her as she was throughout her life. These candid shots make these moments that much more intimate.

I love this painting by Nancy Prator.
I never really have conceptual, in-depth explanations of why I like certain things. This just catches my fancy. I love the expressionless expression.

My cramped little "studio". I have been working on a camera bag lately, (not my tote with the camera printed on, but an ACTUAL bag to hold my lenses while shooting at the wedding!) and once I have a winning design I will add em' to the shop. My poor room just gets overwhelmed with fabric and craziness!
This is my little guy, a crested gecko named Marley. He is about 7 months old now, so he is beggin for a bigger home.
It's in the works, as my friend Vince is building me the coolest cage to hang on the wall. I have no idea where I will make space though!!

I came across some pictures I took of this little fella I found, a few months back. I think he was pissed that I picked him up. See the open mouth??? Vicious!!!

The Grand Introduction

Ok, so I don't really have a grand introduction, but I am excited to have finally sat down to start this thing! There are so many wonderful blogs I have come across since joining Etsy, that making one myself seemed the best way to file and follow my favorite artists I stumble upon EVERYWHERE, as well as take advantage of using a blog for promotion and to share my latest ideas.

Although I doubt many people would be interested in the details of my day to day (because really, it's not terribly enthralling!), having a blog to update will help motivate me to somehow organize my scrambled ideas, document my creative process, and gauge my improvement. I am not known for my words, instead I enjoy making images and wearable art and letting them speak for themselves.

Check back...
